Colonia San Angel, Mexico City, WC by Maude (?)olimar
Peso Priced Item;
Colonia San Angel, Mexico City, Water Color by Maude (?)olimar, 25" x 32". I just cannot decipher the first letter of the last name. The style is very Mexico 1960´s, it is dated Oct. 1962 on the verso. There was no glass when this came from the Estate so we will replace it before selling, perhaps there´ll be something inside on the artwork. Here´s something about the little colonia San Angel.
San Ángel, once a rural village far from the city, is today a charming neighborhood of cobblestone streets and bougainvillea-covered colonial houses. Terrace cafes and upscale restaurants line the tree-lined Plaza San Jacinto, and the 17th-century El Carmen monastery is now a major museum. The area also offers galleries, popular Saturday art markets, and the adjoining homes of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, now a museum.
