# Acapulco Naval Base, Salvador Tarazona

Peso Priced Item:  Salvador Tarazona is one of my favorite Mexican Painters. Born in Cataluna, Spain he immigrated to Mexico and became well known for his many murals in the northern cities of Saltillo, Torreon and others.   
This work is painted on Masonite and on the verso it states "Acapulco Base Naval".  I assume it is the location of today´s Naval Base which occupies a large area in the bay, before the base was built.
This measures 16" by 10.5 " in a very simple frame (the actual artwork measures 14.5" by 9"). 
It is signed lower right.  
This is from my personal collection of Mexican paintings. Since we moved to the Hacienda Santa Barbara I have had to part with some of my 30 year acumulation of paintings! The new house is much bigger with less wall space due to windows, doors, arches, fireplaces, etc!
