Set of 4 Antique English Side Chairs, Aesthetic Movement, ca. 1900. The movement started in 1860 and developed a whole array of products from rugs, drapes, tiles and furniture. The are late Aesthetic, made of dark oak. The set includes 3 side chairs and one armchair. The original leather seat covering has been changed but fortunately they left the woven jute support that make them comfortable to sit in while dining! Each measures 17" (43cm) deep, 33" (84cm) tall at the back and 19" (43cm) high at the seat (the perfect seat height for dining!) Wood is in very good condition with a gorgeous patina, the seats (in my opinion) could use a better covering!
These chairs are not only functional but also a beautiful representation of the Aesthetic Movement, making them a perfect addition to any English antique collection or as statement pieces in a modern home.
