Country French Footstool, Needlepoint Covering
Priced in Mexican Pesos.
This little footstool is referred to as a Gout Stool.
The idea was to keep your feet up off the cold floor.
Origin is French and there is a good chance it is late 18th of early 19th C.
(We would have to remove the upholstery to examine the wood joining techniques).
This measures 15" long x 11" wide by 9" tall at the back. Very good condition. Needlepoint fabric is in good condition too, not as old as the footstool itself.
