Jarrón oaxaqueño enorme, 31 "de alto, atribuido a Eligio Zarate
Priced in Mexican Pesos. Eligio Zarate is well known for his openwork clay vases (barro calado in Spanish) in the small Oaxacan town of Santa María Atzompa. This piece is not signed and since his work became famous many of his local clay workers took to imitating him. So I cannot make an attribution with 10% certainty. BUT this is an exceptional example of the technique, if not executed by Zarate he has some competition in the area. This measures 16" in diameter and 31" tall. Excellent Condition. Free Delivery
