# "Found Art", Original Work by Maurice Yanez (1930-2017) Graphic Design
Maurice was a artist with Robert Miles Runyan & Associates in Los Angeles.
Among other successful posters, they created the famous Olympic poster for the 1984 games in L.A..
The Runyun group had several of their works included at the MOMA in 1968 in an exhibit titled Word & Image 1879-1967.
He was the creative artist on many of the most famous posters and designs from the Runyun group.
He retired to Ajijic in the early 90's and created a large group of avant guard works, compositions utilizing 'found' materials. Rusty barbed wire, this old enamel tea pot, used denim jeans, the shovel, all materials he would 'find' and use to create his original works.
He held several exhibitions in the Lake Chapala area during his time here.
When he moved back to the USA in 2000 he destroyed many of his larger works and sold this one to me.
