Peso Priced Item. Mario Lopez Torres "Macaw" Floor Lamp, from Michoacan.
Made with a welded iron frame and then woven with Chuspata ( a natural fresh water rush, harvested from the river running through the town).
His designs are now internationally known with lots of copies being made. This is the real thing!!
He in now deceased. This and the Moneky Table, we also have in stock, are his original pieces with the brass tag he attached to all his original pieces.
This measures 68" (173cm) tall. There are some discolorations in the lower sections of the Chuspata. Apparently the owners had this is a very damp area for a while and the metal frame bled a rust color onto the Chuspata. For that reason we sell it "as-is".
We found this same lamp with the brass tag, being sold in the USA for $2,500 dollars.
