Regni Mexicana Map of 1715, Hand Colored Engraving, Nova Hispania
Peso Priced Item. Homann, Regni Mexicani in America Septentrionali Map, 1715 Colonial America during the Spanish Succession. This map features an elaborate cartuche work in the upper left corner plus well executed and colored engravings depicting the native Indians watching the transfer of gold buillon and a large warship."Original" Regna Mexicana Map, Hand Colored, 23" by 19.5".
Because the paper it is engraved on appears to be 'woven' paper, it could be from the early 18th C. but we are pricing this as a later edition of the 1715 map. There are water marks in the paper (see my photos). This was certainly printed from the same plate and is very expertly hand colored. You may be getting a super old map, priced as a later edition. I am just not qualified to attest to it's age.

The cartographer Johann Baptiste Homann, (Mar 20, 1664-July 1, 1724) he was the most prominent and prolific map maker of the 18th C.
