Vintage Persian Tribal Rug, 51" x 39"
According to our cinsigner this is the oldest weaving she has consigned. It is a tribal weaving from Iran, no doubt. The mixed warps tell us that: natural colors of wool mixed in a very rustic manner. It has even wear throughout the field and the sides and ends are in acceptable condition considering it's age.
I will peruse my reference books on Tribal weavings in hopes of finding the village this comes from. The geometric designs will help place it. Check back later for an update on its' specific tribal origins.
